Don Depoe

Don has a Bachelor of Education in Sport Science from the University of Winnipeg and he is an Advanced Level coach and a certified Hockey Alberta instructor. Don joined us 5 years ago from our sister campus at Donnan School. Prior to teaching at Donnan, Don taught at Old Scona Academic High School.

Don has a tremendous hockey coaching background, having coached at the minor hockey levels (Manitoba Provincial Pee Wee II Championship), High School (WHSHL Championship), Senior (CASHL Championship), University (Manitoba), College (NAIT – Canadian Championship and ACAC Coach of the Year) as well as in the professional leagues in Britain and Germany.

Don is also a Hockey Alberta Mentor Leader and has been a Coach Mentor in Hockey Alberta’s high performance programs with the Alberta Cup, which showcases the top bantam players in Alberta.

Currently, Don is coaching a bantam team in the EMHA as well as a peewee team in EGHA (Edmonton Girls Hockey Association).

He is looking forward to a productive year as the Lead Teacher with the Red Wings group.
